ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — Recognition for a job well done is twice as nice for one area business. Allegra Print & Imaging in Romeoville collected its second “best of” honor in as many months, as it recently earned the 2009 Best of Bolingbrook Business (BOBB) Award in the small business category. In January, Allegra was named 2008 Business of the Year by the village of Romeoville. The print communications company is owned by Naperville residents Tom and Linda Wilhelm.
The annual BOBB awards, presented by the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce, consider best practices, community involvement, business culture, honors and achievements and employee rewards. Romeoville sets similar awards criteria. In operation for less than two years, the Wilhelms are overwhelmed by the recognition.
“We are truly humbled by these honors,” said Tom. “As small business owners ourselves, we can relate to the challenges faced by the companies and nonprofit organizations that we assist. We keep a positive attitude in this economic downturn and are always looking for new ways that area businesses can maintain their market presence through effective and cost-efficient print communications.
Allegra takes special care to support area nonprofits that are hard-hit by sinking individual and corporate donations. Through a program called “Posters with Purpose,”Allegra provides up to 25 free customized posters to nonprofit organizations to promote their fundraisers and other special events.
“Many are being forced to cut back on things like promotions and are struggling to get the word out about their organizations,” said Tom. “We want to do whatever we can to help.”
